| Elk Grove Western Festival
|
A family event with a parade, rodeo shows, antique cars, carnival games, great music, and good food. The festival runs during the first weekend in May each year.

| Harvest Festival
|
A community event with over 200 carnival/food/craft booths, Pumpkin & Produce Contests, Scarecrow Contest, Fun Run/Walk benefiting ALS, a petting zoo, Enchanted Garden, Classic Car Show and lots of musical entertainment. Estimated attendance at the 2005 Harvest Festival was 30,000. The festival runs during the first weekend in October each year at the Elk Grove Regional Park and is put on by the EGCSD.

The Spotlight Elk Grove blends a "Taste of…." type event with a service industry tradeshow. Guests receive a hors d’oeuvres plate and wine glass, promotional items, and a map of the business locations in the event.

Cosumnes River is the only undammed river on the west slope of the Sierra, and in its lower reaches it flows through one of the biologically richest regions in California's Central Valley on its way to its confluence with the Mokelumne River and the San Joaquin Delta. The Cosumnes River Preserve was created to safeguard much of that landscape.
