EGO Tennis Ladder

The tennis ladder is open to all EGO members from novice to advanced players.  There is no cost to join.  You can schedule a match and play whenever you have some free time.  Most players are here to get a little exercise and have some friendly competition at their own level of play.  Contact DocS44 for more information or to join the ladder.  Click here for a free membership to Elk Grove Online.  There is also year round doubles tennis at Elk Grove High School that is organized by Ohtar2000

How the ladder works is that we start 2009 with the same rankings from the end of 2008.  If you are not on the ladder then you must play someone on it to be ranked. 
Once you sign up you will receive an email with the email addresses and contact info for other players and then you can challenge each other to matches.  You and
the other player decide the rules for the match, ad or no ad scoring, tie breakers etc.  You must win two sets for it to be considered a match.  Then you can email me
the results and I will post it here. I won't post the scores, only who won and lost, the date and adjust the ladder rankings accordingly based on the rules below.

We are going to making some minor changes this year to the ladder. When you challenge someone more than 3 spots higher than you, you can only move up 3 spots.  This is to prevent someone that is say 0-5 from beating someone that is 5-0 and becoming #1.  So if you are #8 and you beat #6, then you move up to #6 and the other players drop down one notch.  If you are #8 and you beat #2, then you can only move up 3 spots to #5. Then #2 drops to #3, and #3 moves up to #2. So it will benefit players to play other people on the ladder and then work their way up and also get to play different people.  This will also encourage people to play more matches and not just play one every two months.
